What We Offer
Individually Tailored Teaching Strategy
It is incredibly important that students are treated as individuals, so Kate works very hard to plan work that marries a student’s talent and interests with their weakness in learning.
Direct Collaboration
Kate works with you, the student. She also collaborates with the school, speech therapists, educational psychologists, occupational therapists and universities. Kate knows the value of the wider community in providing support for the student, so she practises what she preaches!
Comprehensive Reports
Every student will receive a comprehensive written report after the Initial Consultation (If applicable). It will outline areas of need, assessments, results and recommendations.
Curriculum Links
All the early years learning is connected to the Early Years Learning Framework. All primary and secondary learning is linked to the Australian National Curriculum. All tertiary learning is based on the ethical standards as set out by each university
Our Philosophy
PASSIONATE
Born out of a spirited experienced teacher, Kate.
While on maternity leave, Kate knew she had a rare window of opportunity to offer the community what she does best – educate and inspire. Having taught in several states and territories in Australia, as well as Japan, and held the position of Principal, Kate can confidently say she understands students with a disability in learning, their needs and how to remediate to ensure progress occurs.

Importantly, Time to Shine’s philosophy is very unique.
The rich learning environment is thriving with energy. Kate takes the time to learn about you. She takes the time to communicate with you. Kate also takes the time to ensure your child gains the greatest learning in a research-based, professional, yet fun-filled environment.
METICULOUS
Meticulous in how Kate’s ‘tutor’ and who Kate ‘tutor’s’.
The focus is, and always will be, the student. Therefore, Kate will individually assess every student prior to enrolment, using professionally administered diagnostic tests, married with experienced judgement. This will allow an accurate and personalised education plan to be developed. Support will only be recommended if the whole family is accepting of the commitment. Academic readiness for scholarships is NOT what Kate does.
EXPERIENCED
Kate is highly experienced, and has achieved a Masters in teaching those with diverse needs.
I set a high standard so you can receive a quality education. I base the approach on a wide range of proven methodologies and, therefore utilise the most effective strategies so the student can gain success.
